How to encourage 1 year old with development delay to crawl?

Hi all. My DS has a development delay with his gross motor skills, all other areas are fine and he’s a happy little chap. We were referred for physio just before he turned 11 months and within a week he was sitting without support (which he couldn’t do before) and rolling around the room to get from A to B. If he sees something he wants he rolls for it. He’s definitely gaining more strength because this week he’s started to pull himself up to the sitting position from lying down. The physiotherapist said the next stage would be crawling but all our future appointments have now been cancelled due to coronavirus. The department has shut so I can’t phone for advice. Does anyone have any tips on how I can encourage him to crawl or do I have to wait for him to do it on his own? I put toys slightly out of his reach when he’s on his front, but he ends up flinging his arms and legs around in frustration because he can’t reach and then rolls back to his front.
Thanks

I wouldn’t worry, my DGD didn’t start crawling till she was 15 months and walking at 18months.

This website has some great tips: mamaot.com/developmental-milestones/ I really like that she talks about the little things that they need to develop on the way to the big milestones which should help you work out the next area your child needs to master.

Hi, my daughter is hyper mobile and we’ve been through all the physio, as she wasn’t even weight baring or crawling by the time she was 1. So when we started physio she could sit and that was all. The next thing they got us to do was when she was sat, to put both her arms to one side on the floor, so that eventually they will swing their buns round and do on to their hands and knees. Or if you sit on the floor with your legs out straight and put them on their hands and knees over your legs (so that your legs are taking some of the weight but they still have their hands and knees on the floor). Hope this helps. X
