My 2.10yo ds is hoovering the living room floor. Now THAT'S my boy!

Sorry, but I must share my pride

He's just taken the bottom off the hole punch, so hundreds of little paper circles littered the floor.

Without further ado, he got the hoover from the kitchen cupboard (he had to move the tumble dryer out of the way to get to it), wheeled it into the front room, plugged it in, and is now, as I type, getting all the circles up!

Do you think he might make me a coffee?

Yes, mine does the 'wiggle-bum' dance. God, I love it. And he has floppy wrists and says 'Huh' a lot whilst stamping his feet petulantly.

I think he's a bit gay, tbh, but they're supposed to be very good to their mothers, eh?

lol desi what a a boss...and you are not considering this...;)

Must say, I have a Job as a residential support worker (only on bank /relief basis)with adolescent with challenging behaviour, etc...and they think I am so marvellous, because I always do all the cleaning chores...now, when dh hears about it, he just laughs his head off, lol....but it's different to do it as a job and getting actually paid for it, isn't it....at home, I clean and by the time I get through the house from one end to the other I can start again, which I just find stoopid and frustrating and pointless and makes me not want to bother, until I get my cleaning bug...lol

oh, I love those floppy wrists/hands in little baby's that is sooo adorable

Yes, mine's very tough but still ... gay!

He particularly loves very old ladies. Do you think it's the wee smell?

Sounds like he'll make a great DH one day

My DS who is 2.4 is with the hoover and washing machine. He even told DH what number to turn the dial to on the washing machine when DH was struggling to put on a load of whites on day

Long may it continue

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 06/09/2007 22:41

he'll be doing the washing for you in no time

acctually i no longer have to load the washing machine or tumble dryer as dd will do it for me kids are great free labour!

Desiderata · 06/09/2007 22:44

WOW! Missgriss, that's very advanced for a child of that age!

I do think that it's important they pick up the day-to-day stuff instead of obsessing about numbers and alphabet books (although I've got loads!)

Next step .. get him to sort the colours from the whites

OP posts:
SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 06/09/2007 22:47

we do a lot of 'what colour is this ' and 'who does thie belong ot '

gets dd talking rubbish but doing colours and realising difference in size of clothes (big are daddies smaller are mine, even smaller are dds and baby elephant size are ds's! )

missgriss · 06/09/2007 22:48

He has seen so many loads of washing go on he has memorised it

I usually pull up a little stool and leave him sitting in front of the washing machine happy as larry watching it go round and round...

SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 06/09/2007 22:49

missgriss, my ds's one is the tumble dryer, hes only 10mo and has yet to work out he cant reach in and touch the clothes theres a magic forcefield in the way!

Califrau that is genius.

Well, my dd has obv been reading this thread overnight - as this morning after playing 'shaking herbs into a bowl' (don't ask ) she got a tea towel and wiped them all off the floor . And I didn't say but she shocked me the other day by taking the washing out of the washing machine (one bit at a time) the other day and taking it upstairs to hang on the clothes horse outside her room !

She is 16mths old

Why not let's have a 'our children are amazing' thread!

mummymagic · 07/09/2007 08:27

that was the other day if you didn't notice, the other day.

Desiderata · 07/09/2007 11:06

WOW, magic! 16 months ... I think we should have a gifted and talented section for supreme domesticity

OP posts:
SleeplessInTheStaceym11House · 07/09/2007 11:08

cor by 2 she'l be washing up for you!

mummymagic · 07/09/2007 11:09

Must run in the family. Remember my little sister aged about 7 wanting to be a cleaner when she grew up. Used to pay her all the change she found on the floor to clean my room

The domesticity gene seems to have skipped me though - dd sits in her highchair, looks down and goes 'bleurrgh'

mummymagic · 07/09/2007 11:11

It's the tea-making we bred her for...
