You could try a sling. But get one like a huggababy other wise it is just too heavy.

I think you can put a child in a normal buggy once they can support their head.

reallytired, i have sling (kari me) which is fine except when i do the shopping i'd rather he was in the bug. too much to carry home. he loves the sling

Emzy, if you already liking slings, and got one...and it's more about getting the shopping home...how about one of these:
Wood Hand truck/cart

I am actually htinking of getting one of these, as they are brilliant...and well, a tired toddler would also be able to sit in it

Emzy5 · 07/09/2007 16:47

lol 3andnomore! what a great idea. i bet a tired mama could get in too.

i wonder what the steering is like

lol, absiolutely I mean they do take a big weight...not implying you are big or anything...as I have no idea...but 150 Kg is a lot or 330Ibs....I think that is how it translates.

The other idea would be a "Granny trolley/cart thing...but well, most models are less then snazzy, lol!

DS3 (14 weeks) has been in the pushchair in his Hauck for about 3 weeks now........as he was too big for the carrycot

Emzy5 · 07/09/2007 17:15

lol. 330 lbs, i could get me, dh, ds and the shopping in. eco friendly too. also i should kit it out with sheepskins for everyone [snuggles]

I actually have just won one of these carts and altogheter including p&p it comes to just over £33 ....will let you know the quality incase you are considering buying one...defonately looks better then a granny trolley to me

3andnomore · 07/09/2007 22:42

oh and my younger 2 are 3 and almost 5 now...so, the Buggy really isn;t necessary anymore...but carrying all that shopping...well, am to spoiled from using my pushchair

Twinklemegan · 07/09/2007 22:44

I turned DS around at about 3 months. I have heard that most babies outgrow the lie flat Pramette by that age anyway, although DS still had plenty of room. The thing is, you can't really safely prop them in the Pramette because of the way the harness is, and DS really wanted to look around. So yes, turn him around. The buggy will lie almost flat anyway.

Emzy5 · 09/09/2007 20:51

can't imagine me with a granny trolly tbh

Used a buggy from birth and absolutely fine. Do it! Needs to recline enough such that they look comfortable and not slouching.

3andnomore · 09/09/2007 21:56

Emzy, I didn't get a granny trolley...I got one of those fabulous wooden hand carts...wouldn't be seen dead with a granny troelly...well...not yet anyway....give me anohter 20-30 years for that one

bubblagirl · 09/09/2007 22:12

most buggys lie flat and are suitable from birth so that would be fine my son was in pushchair from 2 days old

Emzy5 · 11/09/2007 17:19

3andnm, have you got it yet? is it good?

OP posts:
3andnomore · 12/09/2007 09:51

I got it yesterday, and it's easy to put together, and it's one that is also easily taken apart , incase you would want to transport it in teh boot of a car
Quality is o.k., obviously not as high quality as the real expensive ones would be, I suppose!
It's a bit heavy to pu, well, however...I had to pull 2 children in it on the way to the shop (3 and almost 5 year old) and on the way back had heavy items in it, like bottled water, etc...and my 3 year old demanded to sit in...so, all that is heavy in itself. And of course, it's a different musclegroup you use...because it's pulling not pushing...we got lots of looks, lol...but anyway, the boys really liked it, and I like it, too...

cornsilk · 12/09/2007 09:53

My ds hated his pram too. I dangled colourful teddies from the hood of the pram so he could look up at them and put one of those spinny matallic windmills on the side.

Emzy5 · 13/09/2007 12:54

ha ha! cool - be proud of your wooden cart
