Help my 8 month old daughter is so unhappy :( I don't know what to do

My little girl was born 31 weeks ( 2 months early) she is now 8 months old (6 months corrected ) it seems like she gets upset all the time over the slightest little thing. She had meltdowns and when she cries she screams. It is not at any specific time and is not related to wind or teething. All I can think is that it is because she has an under developed brain and can't control her emotions. Does anyone else have any experience of this? Is this common for premature babies? How do you cope? When will she grow out of it? It is so upsetting and draining to see your baby unhappy all the time. She would let me hug and rock her all day if I could. I can't get anything done. Help

I mean this in the most kind way OP, she's a baby, of course she can't control her emotions.

If she wants to beheld all day, I'd try to go with it as much as you can. They are this young for such a short period of time.

Are you managing to get out with her much? How was the birth?

I've just realised this is the same post that you've put in two other topics.

Much better to stick to the one thread OP Smile

Birth was quick natural we were in SCBU for 1 month. Cpap for 1 day. I just mean I don't see any other babies like this. I go to groups she ok for 5 minutes then starts crying. Sometimes she will start immediately. She is happy in the car in the pram and when I am rocking her. I think I am a natural worry too much and having a baby in general doesn't help this. I hold her for as much as I can but I end up with pain all the way up my back due to the amount I hold her and i worry that she is only getting bigger.

Honestly, my son was like this and he was overdue... it was just the start of the tantrums phase, which has got progressively worse over the past few months (now 16 months). Tantrums are literally because they can't regulate their emotions which is totally normal for a baby / young toddler.
