Hello, this is my first post 😊 and first baby. ( honestly dont think I could have another)
My little girl is a beautiful 10month old who is absolutely delightful outside of the home but is incredibly high maintenance at home. Im wondering if anyone has any experience?
She has the worst temper and its stopping her enjoying anything. She just sees red and has a complete meltdown. She is getting more and more capable of doing little things for herself but runs out of patience after the first go. For example, if she rolls onto her front she can roll back but more often than not will throw a full body wobbler. A toy is a few cm away, she will lean forward slightly, not get it so- full body wobbler. The wobblers have got to the point now where she screams so awfully you think she must have snapped a bone! But seconds later she can be laughing. Shes holding us to ransom as she will not usually spend more than 10mins in highchair, bouncy chair, jumperoo, door bouncer, play mat on floor. Ive picked her up and comforted her in the past but even that doesnt work now and the wobbler continues in my arms and sets the climate for the rest of the day. Theres no way back unless we go out of the house. ( we're in the UK and the weather isnt great) This week we are leaving her on the floor to work through it but its very distressing for all of us. A full wobbler lasted 50mins when she stopped she was exhausted so i took her up to her cot for a nap. She wont sleep anywhere else.
Bed time is fab, she plays in her cot and goes to sleep on her own. Still up every 4 hrs for a feed although the middle one ive swapped to water now shes eating a little in the day.
Shes not poorly - wondered about ear infection but shes fine.
I give her meds if hands in mouth/rosey cheek.
Shes not crawling yet )she will not tolerate tummy time ) and i think shes frustrated as a result. Fine motor skills are amazing!!
Please dont think Im a soft touch- im really not, Im a teacher and my Mum who I live with ( she needs a bit of help) has raised 5 younger siblings and nerver known the like! 🤦‍♀️
Open to all ideas ❤

I dont know if relevant but she doesnt like sweet foods at all, eg. Fruit puree, yoghurt, cereal, biscuits.
Just veg based meals when shes in the mood. Hard to give her a 'treat' for sitting nicely in high chair - cold cooked carrot battons arnt doing it for her 🤦‍♀️

Haha. Sorry to laugh but you have TOTALLY described my little boy!! He is 15 months old now but has been like that since he was born, I swear. And I'm a teacher too!

Basically I've just accepted that my little boy is temperamental and has a firecracker personality. Really hard work but I'm hoping he'll keep improving as he gets older. My son was also slower with his gross motor skills and amazing at fine motor skills funnily enough!! He improved a lot when he started crawling and is much mpre cheerful most of the time these days than he was at 9 or so months. He's a late walker (still not quite there yet) so I'm hoping he'll be less frustrated when he can walk too. But yes... the angry tantrums can be very draining. Apparently I was quote similar as a child except I'd hold my breath until I passed out. And my husband also had tantrums from a ridiculously young age... but had got over them by the time he was 2, so maybe there's hope!
