Pelvic thrusts

I've already posted this in sleep as I have put it down to settling, but as it wasn't just going to sleep yesterday, I thought I'd see if anyone thinks it might be development related.

Over the past week I've noticed that when my son (6 months) is laying in my arms he's started doing a sort of pelvic thrust.
I'd put it down to a sort of settling down to sleep habit he was developing, but yesterday he did it a few times throughout the day while being held by other people.

A bit of googling has told me that it can be a sign of thrush in baby girls, but nothing about boys.

Has anyone else experienced this? And is it normal before I ring my health visitor at a more sensible hour for advice this morning?

Is he sleeping after he's done it?

I've posted on your other thread. I don't mean to scare you but wanted to let you know that pelvic thrusts can sometimes be a sign of seizures. Can you video him next time he does it so you can show the doctor?

He does it as he's starting to fall asleep, he was tired yesterday, but because we were out he was nap refusing.
He only does it when he's laying in my arms and on his back is that helps.

I'd still try to record it to show the GP. It sounds a bit reflexy though OP...like when they're startled...so probably fine. It's so worrying having babies isn't it!

Thank you @Bill I'll try and catch him. It really is!!!

My 8.5 month old does this (I'm fairly sure my older DS did it too). I've always put it down to them trying to fight sleep? I'm confident in my DS's case that it's a deliberate movement by him rather than any kind of seizure but maybe have a word with your health visitor if you're concerned.
