14 weeks screams horribly when poos - any ideas

Since birth my dd2 has screamed for about 10 mins before a poo and non-stop after and will not stop until her nappy is changed - quite unlike dd1 who was always happy to wallow in it for hours . It's upsetting to see her so unhappy and blinking annoying too as it wakes her from naps/in the middle of the night and it's impossible to get her back to sleep without a lot more screaming - poor lamb. She's constantly exhausted from not napping enough because this pesky bum of hers disturbs her so much. Am bf and have excluded various things from my diet but don't think it makes any difference tbh.I was hoping it was just a newborn thing and so have just lived with it so far, but perhaps I should see the doc or give her something like Colief? Or should I just wait a couple more weeks until 4 months in the hope her tummy will be stronger by then? Anyone with any experience of this - it clearly hurts her a lot

Sounds like it could be an anal fissure. Sounds bad but isn't and not unusual in infants. Best to have GP check to be sure. Treatment easy...gently clean area and use petro-jelly for a week or so until it heals.

And lots of cooked green vegetables in the meanwhile to soften the stool.

Sounds horrible for you both - I would definitely see your GP

Thanks so much everyone. To be more graphic, the poos are normal bf ones - mustardy and quite runny and they come once or twice a day, so I don't think she's constipated. And to be more graphic, it's actually worse when she farts then when she actually poos (though she does cry then) - it's like the build up upsets her. And she farts a lot - hence my reluctance to eat too many green veggies!
Love the way all I do these days is discuss poo of either dd2 or dd1 aged 2 1/2 who refuses to do hers in the potty . Ah, motherhood!
