My daughter slipped while climbing on a climbing frame today, she wasn't physically hurt but her immediate reaction was to get really upset and when I went to see if she was ok she started shouting "no mummy, go back" (she wanted me to just keep on playing the game we were playing as though nothing had happened).

This isn't a one off, she often reacts like this if she has an accident

She gets lots of praise so I don't think it can be some sense of failure, but I don't know - can anyone shed any light on her behaviour?

little girls can be bloody independant madams. my dd usually gets upset but normally brushes herself off and gets on with it! i doubt it's a failure thing, more than likely she was enjoying the game and didnt want it interupted! you have raised a very independant child methinks!

...my ds (3.5) has stopped letting me see what's happened to him if he falls etc...'dont look dont look no plasters dontlook'...i used to get to kiss it better but no more...

i wait til i can clean wound (inbath or washing hands) and put savlon on when he is alseep now to avoid major melt down..

i think it is a control thing really and tbh if its really bad he lets me see cause he forgets this stuff...

i just go along with it...as far as i can iykwim...
