Taking baby swimming

Im hoping to take my 6 week old baby swimming. We've found a pool which has a warmer baby pool. I've bought liners and a neoprene nappy. I was just wondering if anyone has any tips? Did your baby enjoy it or hate it?

Is it a swim nappy you have bought? Dont expect to be in for long and be ready to feed them straight away afterwards. Put your swimming stuff on under your clothes so it's easier for you to get ready.

Thanks, yes it's a swimming nappy I've got for him

Take at least an extra big towel if not two. One to put on the floor to lie baby on. I used to take 3! one to transport baby from pool to the changing area, one to put on floor (as during baby classes and several babies present, your changes of a changing table are nil), one to put on top of baby while you are changing him so he doesn't get cold, unless changing area is very warm.
Take also with you an extra change for him, as there will be water everywhere, and it might happen that you put clothes on a wet bench, and then you can't dress baby with a wet top.
It is winter so very cold, make sure you are completely dry before going out.

On the benefit of it, I am not sure. Go for a trial and see if you and baby enjoy it. I did it with my two first and not with my youngest and he is the one that is a competitive swimmer at a state level.

Expect it not to be very long. About 15mins first time is a success.
