My DS is 18 months. He's always been a lovely, relaxed and very cheerful little lad. Full of smiles, and really easy going. He's PFB btw. Blush

Over the last few days he's been whinging loads, just grumpy really and more clingy than usual. He wakes up and cries immediately, usually he'd 'chat' to wake me. He seems to get frustrated easily and cries/moans as a result. He's also been refusing his naps. He might be teething, but it's never bothered him badly before.

I think I'm overthinking this because he's starting nursery next week and I'm already nervous about that, but any ideas / experiences of similar would be gratefully received.

Do you think it's because he's overtired? Clingy, grouchy can also be when they are moving on again developmentally and a lot changes at 18months.

Try not to worry about nursery, they're so skilled at settling in children.

Teething?

Kids go through stages in life. Their brains developing and alot to take in for them and obviously for the parents too. You sort of get used to one sort of side of them and then Boom new character takes form. It will pass. Dont worry. That's just children growing.

My DD was very clingy at 18months. It lasted about a month I think, which was really tough. Lots of nap resistance too, which made me feel like a prinsoner in my house because I couldn’t plan anything! It seems like lots of them have some level of separation anxiety at this age, but it doesn’t last too long.
