Dairy intolerance or something else?

Hi all...not sure if I'm posting in the correct section but looking for advise...
So my DS is now 15months old...when we stopped breastfeeding at 8months and switched to formula, increased food intake etc he was diagnosed as dairy intolerant as he had developed quite bad excema, diarrhoea and was generally pretty unsettled, poor sleeper etc.
Since he has been on aptimel pepti 2 and we have cut out all dairy his excema has cleared up and we have periods where he is diarrhoea free and relatively happy...for 3-4 days a time....however, every week at some point without fail we have 2-3 days of unsettled behaviour, poor sleep etc then a day of diarrhoea again 😕
I feel like something else must be 'setting it off' surely??! I've cut of soya after some internet searching....what does anyone think? Should I ask GP if we can send stool sample? Is there any blood tests I can ask for??? Could it be something more serious like a bowel condition??
Any thoughts or experience welcome... thanks in advance

Soya? 30% of children with dairy intolerance are also intolerant to soya x

Your GP can refer you to a paediatric allergies specialist

Can you keep a diary of everything your feeding each day and see if you can identify something that could be setting it off?

Some babies react to soya/kiwi/strawberry
