Hi collective wisdom of MNers. Six yo DD is brilliant, laid back, funny and smart. She also has just recently started with some behaviour that have had the school take me aside on several occasions.
I want to emphasise that I'm not someone who's determined to attach labels to things and that she is a very happy, not anxious girl.
First of all she's asking to go to the toilet a lot, like every half an hour. We've had a urine test done and there's nothing to worry about there (though she has now been referred to a paediatrician). There are other things though that have started happening about the same time.
She has started blowing on her fingers while she's watching TV or is otherwise distracted. She describes it as her brain playing a game with her but she can't stop doing it. She has also started making little noises in her throat. Not quite grunting, but close and again she can't control it enough to stop.
I'm not overly worried about it until it starts to worry her but I wondered if this sounds familiar to anyone else? Thanks for reading, I know it's long.
