Hi, I don't even know myself what I'm asking here as I'm constantly going back and forth in my head on whether the signs I'm seeing are just of any typical 4 year year old or whether from what I have read DD could possibly have ADHD..

I've searched signs typical to girls and she ticks a lot of the boxes so to speak.. I'm going to speak to her teachers on Monday when they are back at school to see if they have noticed anything.
Could anyone please who has any sort of experience on this with their children tell me about what you first noticed? And where you went from there? Any sort of experience/advice would be great.

Hi there,
My son was diagnosed with ADHD at the age of 13 but I always knew that something is different. TBH, I think I have undiagnosed ADHD. The symptoms for me are so obvious, especially as an adult who struggle with it throughtout her life. I am now managing my symptoms pretty well and successful in what I do so please don't panic!
First thing first, why do you think it's ADHD? Don't self diagnose, you need to get an official diagnosis. You can get this on the NHS but probably wait for ages, or go private. The Portland Hospital have a good specialist.
ADHD runs in families, it is genetic (at 99% of the time). If a parent or a close relative has it, then maybe it is..
Read a lot of books! ADHD is all about management. I am currently struggling with my son, he was diagnosed with sever ADHD and being a teen does not help! Be patient (easy said than done with ADHD kids) you inclined to tell them off constantly. Keep reminding yourself they can't control impolsivity or being busy or interfering etc..
Finally, ADHD is a super power! People with the conditions are mega-taskers, able to juggle millon things and have wired, crazy and wonderful minds. They are creative and interesting because thier brain works in weird and wonderful ways. They are mostly positive with good sense of humour, very observent with acute attention to detail. On the right job, these people are gold. So while they are bloody hard work, (and hard with themselves especially) they are very special too.
Good luck

I'm sorry for the late reply, but could you tell me any of the first things you noticed with your son that made you suspect something? I would be really grateful to know 😊 thank you
