at some points it seems as if they've been having wraps of the old colombian marching powder doesn't it. I get tired out just trying to listen

No tips just lOTS of sympathy, sounds like my dd (3.2yo) complete nightmare to keep quiet VERY waring.

Gag her. DS1 learnt to talk at 1 and he pretty much hasn't shut up in the 7 years since then

witchandchips · 10/08/2007 13:56

I really think its all our fault though. -witch thinks back to time when used to give ds running commentary of how to stack a dishwaher while he was trying to sleep in his bouncing chair

ive got a 8 yrs old SD but when she was same age as my dd...she was a quiet soul!...unlikely my DD!!

Whenever that rubbish about forward facing pushchairs/prams stifling speech in babies I think "thank f&&& we had a forward facing one". Heaven knows what DS1 would have been like with a rear facing one...

NotADragonOfSoup · 10/08/2007 14:01

"whenever that rubbish... is spouted"

moondog · 10/08/2007 14:02

Thank your lucky stars.
i spoend al lday as a speech and language therapist working with children whose parents would give bloody ^anything6 to hear them say even one word.

Remember that, especially if in company of other mothers.

moondog - i was on the verge of taking her to the SALT as she wasnt speaking clear when she was 2.3yrs old and as soon she got to 2.6yrs she became very clear overnight. So yes i am grateful for that....but you know!

moondog, think all of us on this thread are aware how lucky we are. Is it not okay to celebrate our children in this jokey way ?

Biglips · 10/08/2007 14:16

oh yes of course im joking but moaning joking - just letting the steam off!!

Oh FGS.

moondog · 10/08/2007 19:17

Of course it's ok Biglips.
I just so wish that every child found it so easy and I wanted to relay that.

I'm sure they'll all turn monosyllabic when they hit adolescence though and then you will be willing them to chatter.
