Is there such a thing as mild teething? or is it just a growth spurt?

  1. Mi LO (6 1/2mo) has been so good at sleeping through the night until 2 mights ago. Suddenly she started waking up up to 8-9 times. Sometimes for her dummy, sometimes for a long feed. She doesn't seem to be in pain that why I called it a mild teething, I heard that some babies don't feel pain?
2. Also for the past 2 days she's been feeding a lot. I would say double.

She never cried a lot, nor she does it now. But she is definitely more demanding, she gets bored a lot quicker, she gets angry with toys, etc.

Could this be teething or growth spurt or both?

If teething and I don't know can I give her those granule things anyway? I won't give that to her until a few more days to see if she gets back to sleeping for longer.

My big bags will thank you big time!
(Hope this makes sense, forgive my English)

I believe all babies feel pain unless they have a medical condition which means they can't (can't recall what it's called right now). Could be the start of teething, my older two teethed for months before we saw a tooth but it did affect them and ds2 is teething but no actual teeth yet, he's 7 months.

It could also be a growth spurt as she's been feeding more often.

I'd give the teething powder now just in case as it won't do any harm.

DS never really seemed in pain when he was teething so we didn't give him anything. He just woke more in the night so I just fed him & brought him into our bed (as he settled back down to sleep better there). He didn't cry in the day much either - just chewed on everything in sight!

Thank you both! I definitely want my LO to be like terramum's DS, when she's teething but just in case I will keep the powder thing handy, good to know it doesn't harm them.
By the signs that my Lo's giving me... it looks like she's going through both, huh? (I mean teething and growth spurt)

I don't know the answer to your question, AnaKi - but with reference to pain-free teething, I can confirm that my ds got all his teeth through without a murmer. He didn't even chew or dribble.

So, yes, you can have mild teething.

I changed my mind. I want my LO to be like Desiderata's ds!!!
Oh wait, not possible, my dd is already dribbling and chewing all the time
