16m teeth

DS is 16m. He just opened his mouth to shout and I noticed that his lovely white molars have black bits in the centre, both sides (he's only got two) at the bottom. Could he already have tooth decay? He cleans his teeth every night and morning with one of those chewing toothbrushes but he refuses to let me do anything else (he's really independent). Should I take him to the dentist?

humm, could it just be something stuck in the teeth? I'd check tomorrow in case it disappears!
If it's still there, prob worth booking him into dentist ...

The trouble is he doesn't let me look. He will NOT open his mouth. I only ever see anything by accident. I am v. worried. He has lovely teeth (so do I and my mum did) so will be gutted if anything is wrong.

I bet it's just some gunk stuck in there - I've done the same thing with ds before

DD hates having us look in her mouth too - esp if she's teething, but I'm afraid I've been force teeth-cleaning for the last few months - she's finally cut all her canines & is allowing tooth-brushing with a good grace suddenly!
