Is this "normal"?

Not sure if this is "normal" or not but my 14 month old DS constantly throws food from his highchair. Sandwiches, toast, fruit all get dropped over the side much to my frustration. We tell him "No" but he just looks us straight in the face and does it anyway. Is this something they all do and should I just ignore it?

DD2 is doing it now. she is 1.
She usually does it cos she's had enough, or thinks it's funny to watch us pick it up.

Just take it away when he does it. He wont stop just cos you tell him no yet.

Yep normal, he has learnt that when he throws things they are still there even though he can't see them anymore, he is loving watching it drop it is a learning curve for him about his actions and cause and effect and he is loving the fact you are reacting to it. HE is not being naughty just learning.

Just pick it up and take it away he is just playing and good for him giving it all a go.

Thanks - feel a bit better now. It's just that it REALLY winds me up. I'm torn between not giving him anything else to eat and not wanting him to be hungry. Yesterday he was with my mum and threw all his cheese sandwiches on the floor so before she picked them up she gave him some salmon paste ones. As she bent down to pick up the cheese ones he bombarded her with the salmon ones!! She was not amused although we are all laughing now. DH was very impressed he's such a good shot!!

He is probabley doing it when he doesn't really want it or has had enough he will not let himself go hingry.

It is a pain scrabbling on the floor cleaning it up all the time but it does pass honest
