My dd 7 has suddenly become disgusted by me ( her mother). She has always needed physical closeness and me to lie with her to go to sleep.
We have just lost my dad, who she was very close to,
and her dad is using a very extreme tactic to modify her behaviour ( we are separated due to domestic abuse).he locks her in a room if she breaks the many rules of his house, isolating her in her distress.

Tonight we lay down for sleep and I scratched my chin. She went mad, having a panic attack, kicking me and screaming to get my disgusting hand away from her.
She got in the shower, then put a towel on her bed as she couldn't touch where I've touched. Even her comfort toy she couldn't cuddle as I'd contaminated it.
So heartbreaking .

She has symptoms of adhd but because of early trauma caused by witnessing domestic abuse diagnosis is tricky.

Sickening way to treat a little girl.

I think you need to see a family psychiatrist. I did when my son was ages 9 when his school informed me that once a fortnight on a Monday my son was attention seeking and he had spoken to them about not wanting to see his father anymore on his fortnightly weekend visits.

They suggested a family psychiatrist and the man was lovely.

I had to sit close by but not interact and my son completely opened up to him. I heard some upsetting things but I’m so glad we did see the psychiatrist.

As a result the psychiatrist recommended that I did not send/force my son to visit his father as I had been doing and to let my son make up his own mind. He said that the courts acknowledge 9 years as being able to decide for themselves.

I didn’t have to go to court as his father accepted it. The door has always been left open for him to see his father.

My son is 24 now and they have occasional contact through Facebook and Instagram.

Thanks for replying . Her dad is very controlling and used the courts to further abuse me.
I've got an appointment to see gp it's just so frustrating and slow when I need help now.

I do t know what the child experts would say but I have had two children who are now adults so do feel I have some expertise but locking a distressed child in a room to isolate them is absolutely awful and would lead to a child’s imagination taking over rational thoughts resulting in extreme behavioural issues that you are now witnessing/experiencing from her.

He is damaging his child and I would report to social services.
