Hi,
Wondering if anyone had been through the same thing....
My little boy is 13.5 months, he still doesn’t do his pincer grip ( most of the time he scoops his food with his hand), he doesn’t walk unaided (or stand) and he only says ‘mama’.
We have a referral to a paediatrician (3-6 month waiting list) for his fine motor skills. Gp doesn’t think there’s anything wrong, he has normal muscle tone etc... just thinks he’s a bit slower. He can feed himself with a spoon, do the ‘circle’ on a shape sorter, turn pages of a book...
He will walk with his walker or holding our hands, pulls himself up fine, cruises fine. Climbs ladder on slide etc...
He only really says ‘mama’, he babbles, has recently started saying gobbledygook words. He used to say ‘dada’ but stopped.
He does seem to understand lots of words, if we ask him ‘where is...’ he will point to it.
He does wave (when he feels like it), clap hands, feed us food, put phone by his ear, brush his hair and try to brush ours. He shows us things all the time, points (and looks back) to both request and share interest. Looks to us for help if he can’t do something like open a box etc...
I will bring this up with the paediatrician but the waiting list is 3-6 months... just wondered if anyone had been through the same thing....
Thanks
