God

Can't stand it anymore.
Had crap day at work, pick kids up from school, DD wild because she has been invited on a sleepover, her first, next Friday and can't go as she is booked to go on Brownie Funday on Saturday and I have volunteered to go as well to help, so she's screaming at me.
DS's were swapping Yu Gi Oh cards, get home and ds2 asks ds1 for his cards, ds1 refuses saying that he swapped them with Matt and they are his. Ds2 has gone hysterical and I am tempted to throw the whole lot in the bin, all they do is cause arguments. Ds1 always manipulates it so he gets the best cards and I don't know which ones they had to start with, so I can't deal with it.

It is driving me round the bend!!!!!!!

marina, erk indeed to the fishing magazines!

As ds1 is getting older, he and dh are sharing some of the same 'fascinating' hobbies! So at least one parent 'gets' some of the crazes. But others (the ones closest to ds's heart) are all his and no one elses. If dh ever gets into game cards it will be grounds for divorce!

Ooh, just posted a message about this -- haven't got any questions yet, but have found this really informative!

My son's school hasn't banned it. Hope they do, by the sound of it.

Our school even started up a Yu Gi Oh club, but for Year 4's only, which upset DS1 who is in Year 6. The children had to give Deputy Head their cards, in a named box, and they would be returned at lunchtime when the club was held.
One boy who has moved here from Canada had his cards stolen from Deputy Heads' office, and a huge fuss has ensued.
Its crazy!!!!

Ds is obviously well out of the loop at the moment as although he quite liked the cards enclosed with a Yu Gi Oh DVD purchased for him by his grandparents in my absence,(curses, !!) he seems to be quite happy to let dd chew them and fold them down the sides of her highchair...I am clearly being a negligent mother here!
