When did your baby start to just chill out?

Hi first time poster here,
I'm just wondering when babies are likely to stop crying at every minor inconvenience and just chill

My little one is 15 weeks old (3.5 months) and whilst I am completely realistic about babies crying to communicate, sometimes I just wonder why he can't just chill for 5 minutes.

Just for some background, he isn't sleep trained. He needs motion or nursing. He can stay awake about 1.5 hours before needing a nap. Around lunch time I put him in his pram and go for a long walk, stop for lunch and walk home.

Today I stopped at McDonald's (he had slept on the move for 30 min), got half way through my meal and he woke up. Spent maybe 2 minutes looking at his toy then started crying. I know it's because he's not done napping as opposed to hungry or wet.

Lovely mum of 2 at another table offered to have him whilst I eat. I said I'm okay but God bless her soul.
Meanwhile her little girl who can't be that much older is sat on her gran's knee chilling.

He also gets bored of activities and moans after like 10 minutes.

So please, I have an idea it might be related to needing to nap less, but when do they just chill?!

Ah I hate to break it to you but some babies just don't chill! Mine is now 8.5 months old... he is so hyper. He's better than he was but doesn't relax for a moment! On the other hand, my friend's baby was born chilled out. Admittedly he has got more difficult over time whereas mine has got easier so pros and cons!
