Hello all, first time post here. Wondering if anyone has insight to a change in my baby's behaviour?

8 months now, he is starting to get up and stand on his own with support of footrest or cot bars. He has developed a boots in energy and makes straining noises whilst straightening his legs on his back. He has become increasing whiney whilst playing and very difficult to get to sleep as he keeps whining and standing up in cot. His two front bottom teeth are coming through and once asleep he sleeps around 10 hrs straight. He is also starting to try to roll onto his front when we change his nappy and clothes. Has anyone else been through this sudden change in behaviour?

Mine is almost 9 months and desparately trying to crawl and he's generally a chilled baby but is getting a bit more hard work, due to frustration I think. I remember this being a challenging age with my oldest too, they are learning so many new skills and usually teething, so think there is bound to be a bit of whining! I've found that changing activity/scenery often, even if its just moving them round the house whilst you do a few jobs, helps. Also found this a good age to go to a baby group/class or two as they will be able to join in and play a bit more plus the change of scenery is exciting for them, ditto visiting people. His behaviour sounds totally normal to me, if a little frustrating for you!

Hi tappitytaptap, thanks for your reply. Yeah he does sound really frustrated as you said your was. Some really good suggestions I will try them out as he seems much better with a change of scenery, going into the kitchen, going out etc. We wanted to take him baby sensory, though there is a bit of a measles scare in my area and am a little concerned he might catch it. Want to wait until he gets his jabs though really want to take him as it will improve his social interaction with other babies. Did your's become more difficult to get to sleep at this time also?

Yes! He isn't trying to stand but is trying to crawl and is driving me mad! A baby of that age must surely be the most frustrating thing ever!
