Lip tie? Help...

My little boy is 10 weeks old and I've always struggled bottle feeding him. He's been overly fussy and hasn't ever really fed very well from day one.

I've noticed the bit of skin on his upper lip connects all the way to the bottom of his gum... please can someone let me know if this is lip tie? Have you experienced it with your little ones? And could this be the answer to my feeding battle?... help.... thank you x

Yes that looks like lip tie to me. My second dd had it. First dd fed beautifully and second didn't - lots of fussing and wind. Took her to doctor who said just to leave it. Health visitor said same. So I paid and went privately to have lip tie snipped - and it was game changing.

My LO has a lip tie and had a tongue tie too. We had the tongue tie snipped and he's fed fine ever since. Dies your LO have a tongue tie too? Apparently, lip ties aren't as problematic as tongue ties and can be left alone.

My son had lip tie. He was formula fed and used to dribble so much milk when he fed, I had to drape a muslin cloth underneath every time. Aside from that though it never caused any problems.

When he was about 13 months old he fell over, knocked his mouth and the lip tie broke! Didn't bleed much thank goodness.

Get hold of your HV asap. That needs a professional to look at it.
