dd, who is now 7 mths, has been crawling since 5 mths but is now getting really too swift for me and her old nan!!
she keeps bumping her head against things, and keeps heading towards wirings and sockets and dvd players and other stuff. any tips on how to baby-proof my house? HELP!!and is it normal for them to keep banging their head into things

Crawl around you r house adn look at things atthe same height as your dd - For sockets you can buy safety things to go in when not inuse however I found by saying no and movingg dd this was not a problem and also taught her not to go near sockets etc. at other people's houses or when we were out and about in unchild proofed places - make sure cablinmg /wire is tidy or tied so it is nt a hazard . Move low level ornaments and check corners are rounded as soon she will be pulling herself up and cruising.

Socket covers are an absolute necessity in our house. Neither ds could resist them. We also have a safety-guard across the front of our video/dvd player/ntl box - although this was more to do with saving the equipment than saving ds1&2. . Stairgates are also at the top and bottom of our stairs. Some people also use them to keep children out of the kitchen. Take any cleaning stuff out of lower cupboards and move it high up. They always seem to learn how to get into cupboards when you least expect it!

Aggree totally with what has already been said. I also have moved aLL breakable kitchen stuff haih and put cupboard catches on my cupboards that I didn't want the children opening. You can buy foam pads to stop your doors slamming shut if you think this could be a problem. We did have corner cushoins in the coffee table but they keep falling off even with superglue. The answer is constant vigilance and a few bumps I'm afraid, but they do get better honestly
