Dd6 - unusual behaviour after operation

Dd had an operation last week (planned surgery).

Physically she's recovering really well.

But emotionally she's started to demonstrate some very uncharacteristic behaviour.

It started with her getting upset that people were buying her presents. She said she doesn't want anymore because they "reject her" at nighttime.

Then she started "confessing" to all sorts of incidents at school that she has never told me about. Each time she gets in such a state before she tells me and then afterwards she is very breezy.

And now she has started "confessing" things about her feelings. Last night she told me that she doesn't really like me. She said she loves me and doesn't mind me hugging her. But that she actually doesn't like me very much.

I'm incredibly perplexed and troubled by all of this. And I don't know whether it's a common side effect after an operation and I should just ride it out or if I need some professional advice.

She genuinely seems very very troubled.

It can take some people a long while to recover from an anaesthetic. And it can make them act quite strangely. However if I were you I would get in touch with her surgeon or if she gets worse take her up to a&e.
