Cranial Osteopath SW London?

After another hideous night (and not much better days!) with my 3 week old I'm willing to try anything.

Can anyone recommend a cranial osteopath in SW London (I'm in SW15)as I'd much rather go to someone 'tried and tested'. Thankyou!

I know a fabulous one in Bexleyheath which is SE London but if you don't get a better offer nearby let me know and I'll let you have the details. He cured my son of glue ear and made surgery unncessary. He has my vote!

Thank you - If no one comes up with a nearer one I'll be in touch. At 4 am this morning I'd gladly have trekked to the moon if I'd thought it'd help!

I use the White Hart Lane place (for osteopathy for myself) and Charles has an excellent reputation for treating babies.

weddingcake · 08/07/2007 22:24

Thanks so much... we had a slightly better night last night but suspect that may have been a fluke so will definitely try and track down this Charles...does anyone know the name of the practice? x

Clive Lathery at the Bective Road practice in Putney, off Putney Bridge Road, he is FAB, he has twins himself so is really in tune, he saved my life in terms of helping my son to sleep, it's a big white building straight in front of you as you get into Bective Road, I used to live on Disraeli Road, I love Putney!

Another terrible night so as soon as DH is home and I can make a phone call in relative peace I will be finding out which of these men has the earliest appointment!

Thanks again!

If you can get up to farringdon, we saw Rosie at the osteopathic centre for children: www.occ.uk.com
She sorted ds'feeding problems out completely!

TutterJane · 09/07/2007 12:40

CountessDracula · 09/07/2007 12:43

pang of loss too for SW London, live in Cheshire now, great for kids, schools, fresh air, less hassle etc and oooh can park on my driveway, Mum 25 mins away, none of that charging out the house at 8.30am on a Saturday morning in my PJ's to move the car to a residents bay! What a hoot that used to be with a hangover who would get out of bed to moce the car, Carluccios just opened when we left, loved La Mancha and The Depot in Barnes and the old Routemaster N0 14 bus, many a night nodding off on that on the way home from Picadilly reading the Standard, ooh I could go on and on, I get my London fix now and then as DH still has worked based in London and have family their too, I could just do with a fun, girly, boozy night out somewhere glam in Central London, say cocktails at the Sanderson, dinner at Momo (all probably very out of date now!) then a black cab all the way home along the twinkling Embankment, kick off my Prada heels and into bed unlike today son and baby fed, wet cagool off after school pick up HA HA HA! But would not change it back one bit! x
PS: sorry highjacked yiour post, good luck, hope they help I am sure they will.

I took dd to a brilliant cranial osteo in SW19, I think they are called Back to fitness or health or something. The girl there was brilliant (she runs the practise with her husband, who is also very good with babies). They are just off Kingston Road. I think the girl there has just had a baby though, but her husband was highly recommended by a friend of mine who took her 6week old there last week. HTH

Am seeing Charles Lim at 5pm on Wednesday so fingers crossed for a good night's sleep that night!!!

So funny listening to you all missing SW London - we spent the weekend at my Mum's in Wiltshire and I've spent the whole day in a real 'I want to move out of London' mood...

Quick questions to those of you who've done this before that I should've asked on the phone...

  1. Do I need to take anything with me?

  2. Should baby be fed/ due a feed?

  3. If there's nothing he can really do for my baby and it's just wind that I should just stop being melodramatic about will he laugh me out of the place?

OP posts:
TutterJane · 10/07/2007 08:04

no and no

and no, of course not. digestive problems are prob one of the most common things he'll be asked to help with - i went with ds who was v colicky

good luck x

TutterJane · 10/07/2007 08:05

i mean, to question (2) don't think it matters

easier if you're not havin to fret about giving a feed though - you want to use the time to the maximum

i ended up having to change ds's nappy there and it used up a few minutes ofg the precious appt time!

carocaro · 10/07/2007 11:14

just go as you are and he will definately not laught at you, DS1 slept scrunched up on his front and was like a coiled spring, after one seesion with Clive, he slept in the baby pose on his back hands by his cheeks, DH and I were STUNNED and kept looking at him all night long, and after 3-5 sessions he was such a happy relaxed baby, we had a 3 hour labour and he was 5 weeks early fast birth and was all underdeveloped and squished.

weddingcake · 10/07/2007 12:42

Bring on tomorrow!!!

Very interesting carocaro - J was also 5 weeks early and a relatively speedy labour.

I think I'm going to feel so much better that I've at least tried to do something to help him. He's such a good natured little thing and I'm lucky that he's not screaming the house down, more that he just 'moans' almost constantly and seems so uncomfortable that it's impossible for him to settle to sleep.

Thanks for all the recommendations!

Hi weddingcake - can you update on how it went? I'm at my wits end with my 5 month old who has terrible trapped wind. I'd be interested to know if CO made any difference to you?
Thanks!

Lyndag · 27/07/2007 16:52

I'm interested to my dd is 7 weeks tommorrow and won't self settle (she did when out of hospital) but we have been told she has colic, my GP wasn't very helpful when I asked about it he said colic will pass his not living with the grissingly all day and haivng to have the bubba in the bed as its the only way we can get her to sleep if I put her in her pram or moses basket asleep she wakes up

BBear · 27/07/2007 21:29

If you can get to the Osteopathic centre for children in Woodbridge (or woodridge) st in faringdon they are GREAT - donations only so not hideously expensive and they will treat you to...
