DH going away and child sad

Hiya. This is my first post! I just wanted some advice if possible please? My husband is going away for nearly 3 weeks (to visit his best friend on the other side of the planet!) and it's been planned for a while. He leaves this weekend and now my 6 year old daughter is getting upset about him going (mainly when she's tired). I don't know if I can cope for three weeks while he's away if she's going to be sad the whole time! Does anyone have any advice on how I can console her until he gets back??
Thank you!

3 weeks is a long time for her. Has he got any plan in place to keep in touch with her? Scheduling a regular FaceTime session, uploading photos for her to see on your phone and sending letters and postcards might all help.

Thank you! Yes that's the plan to keep in touch every day. I've asked him to tell us what he's doing/seen so we can check it out on google etc. I think she'll be ok while he's away (for most of it). It's just the him leaving part more than anything. We'll have grandparents around to help out so hoping they'll provide some distraction too.

Can you record him reading some bedtime stories for her and also a message from him saying goodnight. Can he ‘send’ a special teddy from his trip(one that you buy beforehand) - maybe he could sleep with it so it smells like him?

Get a calendar up on the wall so she can cross off the days. Get DD and DH to plan some exciting things to do together when he’s back!!
