Teething - is this normal?

My 7 1/2 month old has been showing signs of teething for quite a while - red cheeks, pulling ears, drooling, the usual. But its never really bothered her.

She uses my fiancé as a teething toy, two days ago he notices her bottom tooth had come through. We managed to sneak a peak at it and it was only a corner. We had a pretty normal day and she was in good spirits, but that night she was the complete opposite. She would only sleep in my arms and wanted to be bounced to sleep. Usually she will only sleep in her cot left alone so it's very unlike her.

Yesterday she was ok but a little fussier than usual & again would only sleep in my arms. But last night was awful, she cried a cry I've never heard before. She sounded in a world of pain. We're doing everything to ease her pain powders, calpol, teething gel, plenty of cuddles (when she wants them) & giving her things to chomp on. At one point she felt like she was on fire so I undressed her to a vest (I'm not sure if that's because she was lay on me or working herself up by crying)

Today if she's not been asleep in my arms she's been sobbing and doing the same cry as last night. I've managed to give her 4oz milk, porridge and some veggies but that's all. I've offered it regularly but she doesn't want it. The tooth has completely cut through the surface now.

Sorry for the essay, my question(s) are is the worst of it over now it's completely cut through (for now)? Is her becoming hot normal? Is the anything else I can do to help? At what point do I start to worry about her lack of eating?!

If the baby has a temperature and is distressed I'd call 111.

It could well be teething but it's sensible just to check with them Smile
