My DM suggested taking DD 9 months to doctor because of how she is this past week. I took her this morning and they checked the normal stuff and said she was fine but to come back if she doesn't get better in 5-7 days.
She is usually a very happy baby, always smiling etc.
She only has one tooth which came through between Christmas day and new years. These are the symptoms;
Very very moany, pick her up she wants down, put her down she wants up, nothing entertains her for long and seems to be moaning just for the sake of it.
Puttin her fingers in her mouth
When she's sleeping she's bringing her fists upto her mouth
Not sleeping well, very restless
Has a little bit of a rash around her mouth
Pouting
Looks like she's rolling her tongue around the front of her mouth.

I've tried looking in her mouth, the gum seems a little white but I thought this when she was 6 months and a tooth didn't come til 8 months so my judgement obviously isn't great.
My mum has made me worry now because she said about the doctors, even thought they've checked her over but I'm just paranoid. She is extremely irritable! More than when her first tooth came through. Anyone have a really bad time with their baby during teething?

Teething (especially in absence of any other issues and a clean bill from the GP).

My son suffered like this for several months before a tooth came through: and in fact the closer the tooth came to breaking the less whingey he was.

Calpol, teething gel, teething toys etc and plenty of various distractions. Also you could try hiring a sling: I found it was a good option for when he was in the “pick me up, put me down” stage of mardy!

Definitely teething. as well as 8-9 months is the phase of clingyness. Every child I know gets extremely clingy around 8/9 months. However it will pass! Have you tried giving her nuerofen? I give my son ice lolliesz not the healthiest but they soothe him and make him happy when he's fussy and in pain because of the teeth

Think I’ve lollies are a great idea: I used to give my son sorbet and found it helped him (maybe because the cold feeling distracted him!)
