Settling 1 year old back into cot after night feed

Hiya, I have a 1 year old who is breast fed, he settles into his cot fine at bed time (I feed him to sleep). He used to wake up once a night, I'd feed him then he would go back into his cot. But over the past few weeks he has started not settling back into his cot after a feed. He is asleep but as soon as I put him down he wakes up and cries. His room is next door to my 2.5 year olds who has also been up and down with sleeping recently so I'm worried that if I let him cry to see of he settles he will wake the older one up. I really don't know what to do and would really appreciate any advice and suggestions for things I could try because I'm starting to struggle with lack of sleep. This is my first time posting so Please accept my apologies if I have gone on to much. Thanks

I would start offering water he doesn't need breast milk through the night this should hopefully stop him waking for it x

HI COWBELLA.
I WAS A SINGLE DAD AND WHEN MY LITTLE ONES WOULDNT SETTLE I DIDNT GIVE THEM MILK I GAVE THEM WATER...THEY SOON GOT BORED WITH THAT AND SLEPT ALL NIGHT

I didn't BF so I don't know if it makes a difference. But when my one year old started waking in the night, I read that however they get to sleep at bedtime is then what they seek again when they wake.
Could you try feeding baby, brushing teeth, then putting them to bed, so they aren't relying on you to get back to sleep?
