DS whining all the time... HELP!

My DS who is 8 months old whines all day long. He is never content to just sit and play and if I ignore the whining for too long then it just turns into full blown screaming. I am at the end of my tether as I have a 2 year old DD who also wants a bit of my time. He is happy again when I pick him up but soon also starts whining as though he is totally frustrated with life. Is it just a boy thing?! I am hoping he will grow out of it, maybe when he can crawl but if anyone has any suggestions in the meantime they would be much appreciated!

I had exactly the same thing with my youngest, he screamed constantly every time he was put down when he was about 8 months. I was threatening to give him away because it was so stressful. Then he started crawling and suddenly turned into this gorgeous little thing who was quite happy to follow me around and watch what I'm doing.

Not sure about any suggestions for things that might help, but I am sure that it will get better, probably very soon!

Thank you Lolpop... I have also been threatening to give him away as it has really been getting me down! I am hoping it will change when he can crawl as he seems to be so frustrated just sitting still playing with his toys. He is constantly watching his big sister and I am sure he is desparate to keep up with her!

My ds was like this till he was mobile. I used to leave him in a door bouncer for hours which he loved as he could see what his sister was doing as she ran about.

Tiny1, DS is 8mths tomorrow and sounds like yours!!
Somedays I think he is an 8yr old stuck in an 8mth body.
The way I've found to satisfy his needs is to change his scenery as soon as he starts whining.
This can be as simple as putting him in a different room. I also found that if I put all his toys out he starts whining a lot sooner than if I put a few out at a time.
Also, the baby walker is a god send!!
