7 month old hair pulling

I know babies go through phases of pulling hair and grabbing faces. I was fully expecting this. But what I didn't expect was for my LO to be pulling out handfuls of my hair!

I keep my hair up all the time, but she's pulling the hair that doesn't go into the bun around my neck. Or she's reaching up and grabbing the hair that is up.

She does this every day, mainly when she's screaming which we get everyday at the moment. She's a very unhappy little girl with teething. It's causing her a lot ot discomfort with 3 teeth looking to break through.

Saying no doesn't work. And if I put her down she cries so much she struggles to catch her breath.

Her dad is working a lot so he's hardly here and when he is she's alwaysbon her best behaviour.

What can I do? It hurts. And it's getting to me, I've cried so much about this. I feel useless as it is as I don't seem able to cheer her up. It's like she's happiest when I've got a pile of my hair sat beside me when I take it out of her fist once it's ripped from my head... her grip is strong!

She’s not doing this to upset you, she has no appreciation of how much this hurts you. I’d keep your hair up and out of the way for now. Can hou offer her an alternate live, like a small teddy to fiddle with?

What’s helping her teething at the moment?

She drops her toys in favour of my hair unfortunately.

For teething we've got the matchstick monkey, sophie giraffe and an assortment of other hard things. She has teething gel, granules and calprofen when it's bad.

Could you put scratch mitts on her sometimes?
My DS was born with a lovely head of hair but pulls at it when I'm distress. We have to put his scratch mitts on at those times. He still managed a bit of a grip, but not as bad as if he didn't have them on.
