Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrgh DD has drawn all over her bedroom door

She is 5 FGS. The door is wood and stripped, and she has drawn words in it, in biro so the only way it can be got off is if it is re-sanded.

I am so bloody angry about it, she's been told time and time again that she is not allowed to draw on the furniture or walls and every time she does it, she says "that's when I was younger mummy, I won't do it anymore".

How can I get her to stop doing this?

try baby wipes - seriously

ViciousSquirrelSpotter · 20/06/2007 13:50

No babywipes won't work - the door is wood, and she has leaned in so hard that even if they take the ink off, the indentation will still be there really deep. I'll try them though.

Really I want her to stop doing this. I think 5 should be old enough to know this is not allowed.

rather than saying don't draw on this/that i tell my girls we only draw on paper and make sure there's lots of it around. i also encourage them to only draw in the kitchen.

btw, babywipes got crayon (except the browns) off our wooden doors when dd2 did this (she was about 2 )

Oh bundle I do this too.

I have tried everything. Rational explanation, firm no's, paper in every room, screaming abdabs - and nothing seems to work.

DS1 is 2.4 yrs and he presses hard in the wood too, luckily it doesn't look too bad. Biro, felt-tip, pencil, crayon Grrrrrrr

OK now I have to think of a way to address this.

She is back from school. What should my approach be?
