Hi i am off and on thi site so don't many people, but i have a dd 6months and a dd6yrs,
when no 2 dd arrived dd1 was great helped us look after her changed nappies wanted dd2 to call her mum, but lately dd1 has got quite naughty, she does not listen to me i may as well be invisable, everything is dad, she says no one loves her and that i spend too much time with dd2. I have tried desperatley to get get dd2 on to bottles (the last thread i did) great advice but still breastfeeding, i try and spend time with dd1 we go late night shopping then go for something to eat have quality time when we can but she always wants something, toys etc or with throw a wobble and she last did that at 2. I must add that she still good with dd2 no fughting or hitting just spends all day everyday arguing with me, i feel so guilty and a bad mum.

advice please as even my dh is finding it draining

ds at 6 went through a 'demanding' period where he expected everything he wanted. I dont know if this is a pretty normal stage for 6 year olds. Ds also had phase recently of having an answer for everything and was basically a bit of a pain in the bum at times. She might be trying to assert herself and I think girls more often clash with mums as they want to be the 'head' female. Think this goes on and off throughout their childhood/adolescence. YOu sound like a lovely mum.

My DD is also 6 and sounds just like you DD, except her borther is almost 3yrs. From talking to some friends, it seems as if everyone's DC is acting similarly. Sounds if you are doing a good job. I think it must be a phase she is going through.

To help with the toy thing can you get her to do some chores for pocket money so that she can save for some things? My DD gets £1 a week for chores. Just enough to save for things she wants and it not take too long (usually Rainbow Fairy books, which we get for about £3).
