My 11 month old DD took her first step yesterday. She did not mean to. he was stood up, wanted to hold on to my hands, but was just to far away, just one step away, so she took it [proud mummy emoticon].

DP was on the computer, however he turned, at the exact moment that she took it! We both saw it, her first steps, a magical moment.

She was of course showered in praise.

I love my little girl so much

PavlovtheCat · 16/06/2007 08:21

each month, each day, I think to myself 'oh i love this stage the most' and then, next change occurs and I say it all over again!
Sometimes I still get tearful when I look at her and and DP thinks I am bonkers!

She just took the cleaning sponge from me and 'wiped down' her highchair table.

She picked up the vacuum cleaner head and said vmmmmmm.

Oh dear am i teaching her to clean already , maybe need to play with more toys!

This is a few weeks ago but didn't post it at the time. Took ds, nearly four, to a petting farm. He was on a go-kart course when he suddenly leapt out and ran across the track, dodging a dozen other kars, to much shrieking of 'NO!' from me and various family members. He ran at top speed across to a corner of the track where a load of tyres were stacked up. And pulled out a bigger boy who had fallen in and was stuck! He saw it happen before anyone else and raced to the rescue. I was very proud.

PavlovtheCat · 16/06/2007 09:32

Oh Edam you must have been so proud, thats amazingly astutue and caring of such a little onr

Was changing dd2's bum and she's a bugger to keep still so gave her a bundled up pair of socks to play with. She promptl lifted up her foot and tried to pat them on to it.

She MUST be some sort of genius

PavlovtheCat · 16/06/2007 10:15

DS 14 months picked up dd's hairbrush the other day and started running it through his hair and what makes that even more exceptional is he has never had enough hair to brush so has only ever seen me doing dd's.

And when I was dressing him yesterday he lifted up a foot for me when he seen his socks.

PavlovtheCat · 16/06/2007 11:09

Adath - aw thats loverly!

DD has started to give me the most amazing culldes. She never used to actually cuddle, just from time to time when not busy sit still long enough for me to cuddle her, but now she give me the most wonderful cuddles, arounds right round my neck, face buried. Ooooooh. I am going to pick her up again!

Dd1 (3.5) used the toilet for the first time this week after months of not going anywhere near it

She has also started to read simple letters and numbers.

Dd2 (15 months) has started to talk this week.

PavlovtheCat · 16/06/2007 11:39

Marne clever children!

My DS (5)....has a small kiddy guitar and he likes to pretend he's Johnny Cash. He composed his first song the other week, based around a card I have on my desk showing some men building a new york skyscaper. It was quite insightful and brough a huge lump to my throat......so I've written the words down for posterity!

CorrieDale · 16/06/2007 12:03

Oh, these are lovely!

DS spent 3 months trying to do a forward roll, which he finally managed at 21 months. He can also doggy paddle (23 months) with his Floaties jacket on, grinning all the time. More than his mother could do at 7 years, I can tell you!

Ds (10) came back from a morning of football yesterday,dd2 (15 months) crawled up to him and hugged his legs and gave him a kiss without being asked. Small and insignificant i know but ds was chuffed to bits and it was a lovely moment in amongst the noise and chaos of our house. DD2 was 3 months prem so everything the poor child does is met with a cry of ' to think how she struggled to be here and now look at her....'- she will hate us for it when she's older.
