Babies development/ rolling over

My daughter turned 4 months old yesterday and she's still not rolling over or enjoying tummy time for long? She's rolled once but from her front back on to her back. Does anyone have any advice on how I can help her? Her development seems great with everything else. She's extremely alert, smiles, mumbles and grabs toys. She also tries to sit up a lot as well ( mini sit ups etc). Starting to get worried, I have a family nurse because of my age and because I have a little anxiety and she says she should be rolling by now. Thanks in advance x

My baby is coming up to 4 and a half months and still not rolling. He tries, but can’t quite work it out yet. I think it sounds like your little one is doing fine, I think rolling can be up to around the 6 month mark befor any need for any worry.

Okay thank you😊! Yeah she's trying sometimes but she can't quite do it yet. Suppose she'll do it when she's ready, thank you for your reply!

She’s done it once and that is fabulous. My first did it once, looked at me with a look of “ok so now you can cross that off your list” and didn’t do it again for ages.

If she’s trying, that’s a really really good sign. Tummy time is over rated in my opinion, both of mine seem to be able to walk, talk, eat, run and okay sport and both hated tummy time with a passion! Smile

I find this useful...

The tables on pages 6&7 show the average age of babies when they meet certain motor skill milestones.
