Boots and Bar...how long?!

Hello Mummies.
My sweet, smiling, calm 5 month old baby finished her ponseti plasters on Thursday and is now in BnB. I know it takes time for her/all of us to get used to them. She used to wake 2x a night for feeds n go straight back to sleep. We have had very little since she had them fitted. Her daytime naps are fine, however nighttimes seems really difficult. She'll only sleep in the bed with me, and then only for an hour, maybe two.
It's still very early doors, I know. I was just wondering, if there are any seasoned clubfoot mamas out there in MN world - how long did your lo take to finally accept bnb? Any inspiration, tips, help....anything?!

Hi. The first week of B n B can be tough. Is she slipping out of her boots? Do her feet look marked or sore? It may be that her feet aren't in the correct position yet for her boots. It's worth taking the boots off to check her feet and phone your hospital to discuss. I know from experience as my child developed blisters and had to be recasted whilst the skin healed. It's tough at the start but you'll get there. There are lots of hints and tips online about the boots stage. Good luck

We're going back tomorrow...she's got a massive blister on the top of her foot :( we rang the hospital and they said to take off bnb until tomorrow. She is her happy, smiley self again. I know in the long run it's the best thing for her, but I dread the coming few weeks Confused

That's good I'm glad she's being seen. Once you get over the first few weeks it does get much easier and that's from someone who's childs treatment he been far from straightforward. But the treatment is fantastic and the results achieved are unbelievable! Best of luck x

Our baby's treatment has also not been straightforward. Some babies go through 6-8 castings...we did 15! We were so excited to progress to bnb, and now I almost regret it. She has arthrogryposis, so we've got a long road ahead.
