DD is 20 months, she's always been a mummy's girl. When we go to the CM, she can be quite irritated if one of the other kids sits on my knee - tries to push them off and gets herself upset.
Last night, FIL came over and brought DH's step neice, she's 5. They were playing for a bit, but everytime the little girl came near me, my DD got upset. I took the girl to the loo at one point, and dd stood at the bottom of the stairs, screaming "my mummy, my mummy" and crying, and when I came back down, she sat on my knee whimpering and crying.
Now, although its nice to be wanted - will she be like this when we decide to have another child??!

My ds2 was a bit clingy. Just be patient - she'll grow out of it!

My dd1 is quite clingy as well but she was a bit older, 2.10 when dd2 was born in February.

I talked to her a lot about the baby about how she was the big girl and she had to show her baby what to do as the baby wasn't as clever as her. I bought her a realistic baby doll to teach her what to expect. I recruited her as my helper so that me and dd1 were a team looking after dd2, asking her why the baby was crying what did she think we should do etc etc

It worked really well, she did have a short phase of 2 weeks or so after dd2 arrived when she got a bit clingy but it passed and she's brilliant with dd2 now.

Good luck, I'm sure she'll be fine.
