When do babies start putting things back together?

I know they're all different

But I feel the finer point of some (all) toys is lost on ds1 who is almost 10 months

I don't really mind that much but I simply cannot see how he will go from chewing toys and throwing them over his head to putting them back together again as they're often designed for! I suppose he probably will at some point, but I'm curious to know when your LO started say, building tower blocks and putting things into a box (rather than throwig them out and/or eating said box!!)

My 1 year old placed a brick on top of another brick a day after his first birthday. He also put a ring on the stacking ring the same day. I line up the sorting shapes so they are in the holes and he pushes them through, this happened around 11 months.
He has just learned the concept of crayons now and has started to scribble on paper with them.

At ten months he was just eating the toys and watching me play with them!

13 months he put a ring on a stacker once and 15 months he put a brick on top of another once but since then decided he would rather just knock everything over (nearly 16 months). I think he can do it, he just doesn’t see the fun in it Grin
