Toddler picking own clothes.

My little boy is 2 and a half now and basically is very independent and head strong he knows exactly what he wants.
Well I let him pick out his own things when we're shopping and his favourite colour is pink (because he associates it with strawberry milkshake and yoghurt) he really wanted pink glittery wellies so I got them for him as he needed a new pair anyway.

People keep telling me I should of let him get them especially because they're pink!

What's everyone else's thoughts and opinions? Would you let your child pick out their own clothes? Does the colour even matter to you?

If my son wants pink sparkly wellies and a purple tutu I will let him have them (if he needs them): I draw the line at Peppa Pig though ;)

I say let them do what they want when it comes to clothes and colours. A child I used to baby sit loved hair bands and handbags until he was 5, he is now 16 and a massive rugby player. My niece used to wear every item of clothing pink, now she’s 13 is black, black or black.

My dd always picked her own clothes it's one of the best ways of being creative and expressing yourself. To be fair my daughter dressing up as captain America will probably have drawn less comments than your son in sparkly pink wellies but that's other peoples problem not yours.
