in-turned toes in 2 year old

hi. Just wondering if anyone had the same problem. My dd is 2 years old and we got her a fitted pair of trainers about three weeks ago now. SInce then, she seems to be walking with in-turned feet. I have never seen her do this before, but I took her back to Clarks today to see if it was the trainers and the woman said she was doing it herself because she walked like it without trainers on......i have never seen her walk like this before.

Anyone know if this sounds right???

My ds1 has one v in turned foot, a left over from a positional talipes at birth and general hypermobility (inherited from me)-meaning he has v lax ligaments and quite low muscle tone. He needed to wear an insole in his shoe for about 18months and we work at ensuring he has some full on exercise every day to keep his muscles as strong as possible. I first noticed it when ds1 wore wellies for the first time as he kept tripping over his inturned foot.
Your dd may just grow out of it, as it is common for children to be pigeon toed for a while, developmentally, when they first start walking and for the next year or so as their limbs lengthen and strengthen.
If you are concerned you could try talking to your GP or HV for their opinion.

My nephew had this at about that age - I never noticed it but my Mum mentioned it. The GP said it was fairly common and tended to go away as they grew up. He is now 6 and I am pretty sure it hasn't been a problem for quite a while.
