so my boy is 10months old and can just about sit up unaided BUT he has to have someone behind him as he will fall over at any given moment...as for crawling...he dont all he does is roll about to get to where he wants!! abigail was sitting, crawling, standing by this age...and even took her first steps...now i know the "old theory" boys are lazier than girls but im at my wits end...i try and encourage him to sit crawl and even stand up but he just gets all excited and laughs 😕😕😕

I've not heard that boys are lazier than girls but it's obviously complete rubbish.

He sounds like he is getting g there with sitting but I would speak to your health visitor. Has he had his health review?

mummabear1989 · 14/07/2018 10:11

yeah and she is concerned with how he goes all stiff when sitting up

Was he referred to the physios?

Bit sad that you're calling him lazy when he might not be able to physically do it.

I've never heard the saying that boys are lazier than girls. The stereotype of a young boy is one of running around, climbing etc.

im only saying what ive heard and ive read that baby boys are lazier than girls

I would forfeit those myths and focus for n what the HV has said. If they are worried about stiffness and he is unable to sit independently at 10 months, it sounds like they are worried about tone.

A referral to physios or a review with the HV should be the plan for him.
