DS will be two next month.
Today I had to remove myself from him for a while as he was repeatedly trying to bite me (a whole other thread), so I left him upstairs for just a couple of minutes and went downstairs. He worked himself into a bit of a state, repeating "Mama gone". This in itself is not unusual as at the moment if I even go into a different room to the one he is in I get the refrain of "Mama gone".
What has slightly worried me is that when I went back to him and reassured him that "Mama back", I asked him why he was so sad because Mama always comes back, and this is what he said: "Mama gone away. Big car bang-bang. In ants [ambulance]. Bang knees, no Mama".
Is it common for separation anxiety to be expressed in relation to a specific scenario like this? To the best of my knowledge it is not one that he has been exposed to through a story or TV.
I have a bad tendency to catastrophise, so reassurance that this is normal for a little boy with an active imagination would be most welcome!
