DS1 is nearly 5 and has suddenly started having major separation issues - especially at school.

Does anyone have nay ideas as to how on earth I cope with this. It is now rubbing off on DS2 who is nearly 4. (Anything he can do I can do even better, at a much higher volume and causing you much more embarassment in the playground Mummy!)

If the problem is worse at school then I would get the teacher on board too. Ds1 went through this (tbh still has moments), and I had a word with his recption teacher who then made a specific point of latching onto him at the start of the day and finding him a job or an activity to distract him.

Both children still find it important to say goodbye, so I don't try to sneak off.

Yes I agree about talking to the teacher.

My ds had similar problems in Reception and I remember that the best method was to give him a big kiss and hug and then to leave pretty swiftly, no hanging around.
