Toilet training advice

I want to try toilet training this week with ds 2.11

He's got a special toilet seat but doesn't want to sit on the toilet at all, doesn't really care if he's wet/soiled. He gets upset/annoyed if I even talk about toilet training. I've just about managed to get him to wear pants as he refused at first. Bribes don't seem to work, he's pretty stubborn.

He gets the idea that wees and poos are supposed to go in the toilet, that babies wear nappies and big boys wear pants, I think he just finds sitting on the toilet too boring.

I was hoping to bypass the potty as I did with ds1, who finally toilet trained at 2yo3months.

I'm wondering if it's worth getting a potty or if it's just another thing to then train him out of.

He still poos 2-3 times a day and there seem to be no signs he's doing it so poos are going to be tricky to catch.

It's been a long time since I did this, ds1 was stubborn but eventually did it in a few days.

Having just trained a very reluctant boy I would say that if you can’t get him to sit on the toilet he is not ready.
Try again in a few weeks?

He will learn eventually..maybe getting your oldest son to show him what to do, kids esp siblings are copycats if he see someone his brother going to pee or poo maybe he will follow example

It might work better if he feels in control and decides when he would like to start. If there is too much pressure and it becomes stressful it can be a deterrent. Maybe just keep asking him each week if he would like to try...
