12 month old not saying any words

I know that babies develop differently, but my daughter recently turned one and to date has never said any words. She has said dada but seems to use it for everything and has only said mama occasionally to me but I'm not sure she really has any meaning behind it. She is cruising around and close to standing without holding on, and is able to pass a ball and hold a beaker etc, so I think developing relatively normally. She is also extremely noisy and babbles constantly. But really she doesn't seem close to saying any words at all. Should I be worried? Can I do anything to help her language development? She's been at nursery fully time since she was 8 months old, so was wondering if this might be slowing her down as she is hearing so many different people speak and yet not getting dedicated attention. Any advice would be really appreciated!

If she's only 12mo, it's really nothing to worry about. My DD didn't begin speaking until 19mo (and hasn't paused for breath since!)
The guidance is two words at two... so you have a lot longer before approaching a professional if she hasn't begun speaking. T he fact that she babbles , says dada and mama (two words already in fact!) and follows a simple instruction suggests that she'll just get there when she's ready. Smile

Haha I wasn't thinking about getting professional help. Well for me maybe, but certainly not for her!!! But I just am curious as to when most babies do start saying other words, as according to development stats I've read, some are capable of 4 non-mamma dada words at this stage! All we seem to get are screeched and finger pointing, and the occasional tantrum when I don't respond quickly enough!
