Positive books about being shy for a (nearly) 4yo?

Anyone got any good suggestions? Friend had one about being a flower/chick etc, but can't remember the title. I HATE labelling him as shy (try not to do it in front of him) but he does take a long time to warm to new situations etc. Just wondering if there are any suggestions of what I could read with him to help him realise that it's ok to be wary, but to help boost his confidence.

It's not about being shy but raising boys is good for overall development. Have you thought about a drama group like stagecoach?

Thanks Cornsilk Did try drama a few months ago, but he found it really hard, so we decided to leave it a bit longer - did try 3 sessions but he wasn't enjoying it, even tho my dh stayed with him!

There's a lovely book called 'Halibut Jackson' which is about a shy man. It's really charming and has a positive message about achieving stuff and being content while being shy.

I'd recommend it but can't remember the writer and I'm afraid DS is just dropping off so don't want to sneak in and check just yet! I'm sure you could google it?

So my Amazon basket is filling up Have heard good things about Raising Boys on MN, and Halibut Jackson sounds excellent - not to heavy but with just the sort of message I'm looking to give ds. Thank you.

Patrick the Party Hater by Emily Smith. About shy little boy who finds that it is Ok to be worried about new situations and realises that he has other qualities/talents.

Not a picture book, but simple enough to be bedtime reading.

Thanks amateurmum (your name made me smile!) Off to look this one up now.
