So my almost 2 year old was an angel. Slept through the night from very early one. Always very happy and content. Since abouy 3 weeks ago we have been hit with terrible tantrums. She kicks, hits and headbuts. Shes also started throwing things at us. She will not let us change a nappy, its a battle every time. Doesn't want a bath. Then when i get her in the bath i can't get her out. Bed time is the worst. Since sunday she will not go in her room. She won't go in our bed either now all of a sudden. As soon as she knows its bedtime she's hysterical. She is abserloutly shattered but won't give in! Having to leave her to crash downstairs and then carry her up. She won't eat what i give her for dinner or tea and she is barley drinking through out the day apart from her bottles. I ignore the big meltdowns as me trying to comfort her doesn't help and i end up been kicked in the stomach, I'm currently pregnant so want to aviod that. Is this normal? Should i be worried about it? Is ignoring her during meltdowns the right thing? Any help appricaited

Sounds like a normal 2 year old to me. That's why its called the terrible twos. I mainly relied on using distraction or ignoring at that age - its very stressful!

I did think it was the terrible twos come early lol. A bit of a shock though as she just changed over night. Distraction doesn't work and she gets really angry. She never wants to leave grandparents as well. Which is heart breaking. Hopefully it will pass. Thank you for your reply x
