My 9 month old can't cope with stage 2 foods!!!!

Really struggling with my little one.
I know people said don't compare with other babies, but i know 6 month olds on stage 2 but my little one heaves and gags and spits it out at me.
I thought we was getting on really well with stage 1 and he was finishing jars and pouches in one sitting.
We've been trying stage 2 for a month now, and he's still spitting it out at me.
I've put mashed up banana in front of him that he won't even put in his mouth.
I gave him a biscotti this morning and he heaved so much the biscotti and this morning's milk all came back up.
I just feel like we're behind and not sure what to do.
He normally has 2 or 3 meals a day but they are quite big.
Do I got back to stage 1 even though he's 9 months old? Or do I persevere on stage 2 even though I'm not sure if he's ready.
I don't think he likes the flavours very much either.

Hi my little boy is nearly 8 months, having the same sort of issues. He has been having baby porridge for a few months and took really well to it. Then at 6 months we introduced jars for lunch and tea he loved them and was eating them fine, when he hit 7 months we tried him with the lumpy jars and he hates them won't entertain them at all! He will occasionally eat a biscotti but really isn't fussed, we can't work out if it's texture or taste. We are now just blending our meals to a puree and giving him that, some food is better than no food I guess? So I'm here for advice too but also to let you know you are not alone xx

Wtf is stage two .
Just give him some proper food and let him get on with it

Great advice absolutelycrackers.
Very helpful.
And as you can see I have been giving him banana and similar things that be throws on the floor.
Leaving him to get on with it is giving me a messy floor and a hungry baby.

Hey, my little one is 15 months and still doesn’t really like lumps in dinner - he does however eat finger food all day long. I know it’s really hard Cos I used to get so stressed, but just keep going with what he does eat and keep introducing small bits of finger food here and there, or blend stage one with stage 2, i used to have to mix yoghurt with his dinner!! Still do sometimes, just do what works. Don’t get too caught up in age and stages, just introduce different things every now and then x
