...whether irrational or not?

As I drove home from school today, dreading getting children out of car and into house, I thought how irrational it is of me to dread these moments.

Okay, they squabble over who sits where and faff about with belts and crap in the bottom of the car while I stand waiting (for all eternity) to buckle them up, but really it isn't THAT bad and yet I double dread it.

The school run would be less of a chore if we could walk it.

I also dread bath time - but couldn't tell you why as tbh it is usually quite fun.

How about you?

You are not alone! I can't bear that 'getting through the front door bit' either! Coats, bags, shoes, lunch boxes, shouts of can I have the lego out, can I have a drink, guess what so & so said to me today, not to mention at this point I'm still trying to get a buggy though the front door! Its absolute chaos in here for the first 20 mins after school!

anything where I know squabbling will ensue - so that's lots of things I guess!

October, how old are your kids? I've just passed the job of unloading dishwasher onto my dd (11). It has made such a difference to me. (Oh how sad am I, to be so happy about an empty dishwasher)

I dread doing my kitchen floor. First it means I have to hoover it all thoroughly and then I have to move all the chairs out and put everything up off the floor. Then I am down on my hands and knees bleaching the bldy thing. Afterwards, can't go back in for ages until it is dry and then have to put everything back again.

Not only that but it only seems to stay clean for a day or so, and then looks a flipping mess again. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to have white tiles was having a laff I reckon.

Dinner time.

Yesterday i made homemade quiche and dd1 wretched with every mouthful.

Tonight i spent ages cooking, and they take an hour to flick and fiddle - the 2 year old tries to get onto the table and then under the table. DD1 needs a wee at least twice, can't eat as she doesnt' stop talking for one moment and has no available chewing time, decided she doesn't eat pasta or spinach, needs to sing a song etc etc.

It starts off as a lovely homecooked meal, all of us sitting together and talking - and ends with me bribing, begging, forcefeeding and finally yelling and threatening.

Homemade quiche though - you star if ever you want a appreciative audience.....
